As the sun slowly sinks below the savannah, one of the most impressive parts of the day begins at Orumbo. The heat gives way to a golden calm, the light softens, and the landscape becomes still.

Whether with a cool drink in hand, on a dune, a rock, or under a tree: the sunset at Orumbo is not an event, but a feeling. And it is different every time, because there is not just one backdrop—there are many different places where the sky can be experienced in a particularly impressive way. Each spot has its own atmosphere and effect.

From the vehicle, you can enjoy sweeping views across the flat savannah, making it particularly easy to observe animals at sunset.

The farm's roof terrace offers an elevated, sheltered panorama and comfortable seating—perfect for guests who want to enjoy the moment without driving.

A small hill north of the farm is one of our favorites. There, the sun slowly disappears behind the bush, the light changes from gold to orange to blue, and the sky opens up wide.

The open plain south of the camp is also ideal: it is unspoiled and quiet, and you feel as if you are standing alone in the landscape.

What makes it so special

A sundowner is simple – but atmospheric. We provide:

- Small seating or blankets

- Drinks (e.g., gin and tonic, beer, non-alcoholic)

- Small snacks

- Sun hats and insect repellent on request

- Transport to and from the spot

- Time for photos, relaxation, or conversation
